Erin Lunsford Pop-Up Liner Notes (Season 1, Episode 2)

1.2.1) Botetourt County is one of Virginia's oldest counties. Hikers and bikers pass through on the famous Appalachian Trail and the TransAmerica Trail, while paddlers flock to the Upper James River Water Trail to experience the mighty James as it winds through the Blue Ridge Mountains. Near the city of Roanoke, VA.

1.2.2) FloydFest is a world music and arts festival held annually near Floyd, Virginia, in the Blue Ridge Mountains just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

1.2.3) Erin & The Wildfire started as University of Virginia (UVA) college kids in Charlottesville, Virginia making music just for fun, but has grown into a flourishing, decade-long musical relationship among friends making soul and indie-pop hits. Erin Lunsford (lead singer), Ryan Lipps (guitar), Nick Quillen (drums), Matt Wood (bass), and Stephen Roach (keyboardist).

1.2.4) D’Angelo is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He is associated with the neo soul movement, along with artists like Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Maxwell, and collaborator Angie Stone. Let us not forget, a Greater Richmond native.

1.2.5) Vengaboys are a Dutch Eurodance music group based in Rotterdam. They created global hits like, “Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom” and “We Like To Party” in the late 1990’s. Do you remember that old Six Flags theme park commercial?

1.2.6) The Damsel has been nearly eight years in the making, and takes a deep dive into unrequited love, family forgiveness and coming-of-age in your 20's. Released 4/3/2021

1.2.7) There is a digital exhibition that explores “The Damsel” through visual works of art. Each Virginia artist chose one song off the album and created a new piece around the themes of that song. This project began with an idea to support the visual arts community during the pandemic and has turned into a huge collaborative project that is not only benefiting the artists themselves but also the arts community at large through a partnership with CultureWorks Richmond.

1.2.8) Liner Notes Season 1 guest and Ignited founder, Maggie Graff, created a digital collage for the song, “Don’t Leave Me In The Dark”.

1.2.9) Dolly Parton is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actress, author, businesswoman, and humanitarian, known primarily for her work in country music. Today, Dolly is one of an elite group of individuals to receive at least one nomination from all four major annual American entertainment award organizations; Emmy, GRAMMY, Oscar, and Tony.

1.2.10) The Women's March was a worldwide protest on January 21, 2017, the day after the inauguration of President Donald Trump. It was prompted by the fact that several of Trump's statements were considered by many as anti-women or otherwise offensive to women. It was the largest single-day protest in U.S. history with an estimated 4.6 million marchers across the U.S.

1.2.11) Launched in 2004 with a primary concentration on promoting student hip hop performers, the entirely student-operated O Records has expanded its artistic reach to include all forms of music. O Records, now known as University Records or U Records, offers the entire gamut of record company support, ranging from rehearsal to engineering to audio setups, even mixing and mastering.

1.2.12) Life expectancy chart: Don’t trust Elijah. We aren't experts, but it sounds right. LOL

1.2.13) Weekly Live Stream concert series: Corona Productions is proud to present: Erin’s STAY HOME DANGIT Show! 7:30pm EST Tuesday 3/17/20. You can stream along with your pets and your popcorn from your own couch. The “Tip Jar” helped Erin, other musicians, and area charities.

The Broadberry is Richmond's premier concert and special events venue. The Broadberry’s location has historically been a place for music. 1.2.17) Friday Cheers. RVA's longest running summer concert series held on picturesque Brown's Island and downtown Richmond's riverfront. Produced by Venture Richmond. Erin and the Wildfire opened for the Richmond reggae musician, Mighty Joshua, in June 2021.

1.2.18) DJ Harrison from the funk hip-hop band, Butcher Brown, was a guest on Liner Notes Season 1.

1.2.19) Charles Owens is a master tenor saxophonist, composer, band leader, recording artist, and educator and has been performing, composing, and teaching for over 25 years. Charles is an integral part of the vibrant music scene in RVA and in Charlottesville, VA. Check out his jazz band, The Charles Owen Trio.

1.2.21) The Jungle Room is Sabai’s tiki bar speakeasy.

You can dance the night away to epic DJ’s, like the Wax Buildup crew made up of DJ Mentos, Hip Hop Henry, DJ Nobe, Billy Crystal Fingers and other guests spinning only vinyl.
