Life is Valuable Corp. (L.I.V.) has partnered with Culture Works to bring an informative and exciting event to Petersburg, VA. Co-Founders Peter Arango, Gabriel Williams, Quinelle Holder, Sabrina Vaz-Holder, and Anna Permenter have created an experience to help foster young people’s interest in the music industry.
“We have a responsibility to help bring resources and programs that provide emerging artists and students the skills and opportunities to navigate the rapidly changing digital world. LIV Fest perfectly encapsulates our efforts in realizing our mission and I’m beyond excited to be able to provide this for the Petersburg community.” - Pete Arango, Co-Founder and President
LIV Fest is “a non-profit event for students who come from low-income households and underserved education systems who aspire to become entrepreneurs in the music industry.” This is an amazing opportunity for students to network and learn from professionals in their field. LIV Fest also poses as a prime time to connect with other students to start building their own music community.
This event will offer a mixer at the beginning of the event with multiple activities to follow. Activities include producing beats with an experienced industry producer, recording on any of LIV producers’ beats, creating cover art for your next song or merch release, and a guest workshop on Artist Management with Walter Montesinos from Distrokid. This hands-on experience will help cultivate your creativity as an artist, or if you are a more behind-the-scenes person like me, refine your artist management skills. Whichever path you choose to take, there is a place, and activity, for everyone to join in on.
“Everyone is welcome! We want everyone to experience support in the LIV community, and not feel like they have to figure out the music business on their own. The community will see they won’t have to go to a different state/city to grow in their music career or as an entrepreneur.” - Sabrina Vaz-Holder, Co-Founder and Treasurer
After students get their creative juices flowing, they can hear from professionals in their very own community at the How You L.I.V.’n Panel. Quinelle Holder (Recording Academy, Medium Creative), Gabriel Williams (LIV), and Itzel Ortiz (Petersburg Area Art League, Creator, Curator) will discuss community, culture, and how you can use your unique voice to unite the two. The event will be moderated by Kenna Renée (KR Media Group).
Access to the arts can be a major, life-changing experience for students, I know it was for me. LIV Fest is focused on a community and culture-oriented approach that will lend a helping hand to future music industry entrepreneurs. If interested in attending, please see the official details below.
